I decided since I posted about Kate Page as being my pen name, I might as well put it up on the header. The truth is, I have a wide range of interests. My first one is romance, and with romance, my tastes vary widely too. Okay. Not for paranormals. You won’t see me writing a paranormal romance. So when I write a time travel book or about a guy from another planet coming to Earth, I’m calling it a ‘Romance with a twist of fantasy’ because to me, paranormal has more to do with shapeshifters, vampires, etc.
Anyway, that explains the header. Now for the actual post. 😛
I published Bid for a Bride today, and I started at 9am. I figured I could have it all done by 10am. Boy, was that ever an optimistic view of how long this stuff takes. I mean, what in the world? I have how many books published, and I still haven’t figured out how long it’s going to take to get everything together and working on the internet? I know. It’s so sad.
But I did get everything formatted, so Bid for a Bride is up on Amazon as a Kindle book (on the same day I uploaded it–I never saw it go up that quick before; I’m amazed). I did format it for Smaswords but since Smashwords had a glitch last night, I opted to wait until tomorrow. Fortunately, since I’ve done all of this work, it truly will be about an hour’s work tomorrow to upload it and get the links going on my website, Facebook and my first draft blog. I also made another attempt at a paperback version. Wish me luck on that one!
What else? Making the announcement on Facebook and my blogs.
Sadly, when I write it out, it doesn’t sound like it takes all that long. No wonder I’m consistently under the illusion that this is a quick process. I assure it, it takes longer than what it sounds like. lol
But I’m excited. There’s a rush that I experience every time I see my book up on the Internet in its final form. I feel like I accomplished something, and I love feeling like I’m making traction in the writing arena. There’s no better rush than seeing the months of hard work paying off in a tangible form, if you consider ebook a tangible object.
But I’m happy. Tired but happy. 😀
