Well, I uploaded Return of the Aliens to Amazon, Smashwords, and CreateSpace today. So I can cross this book off my list. I’m excited about it. It might be a sci-fi thriller, but it’s got Christian elements in it, which I love to read. Authors like LA Marzulli, Tom Horn, and Steve Quayle are authors I enjoy reading in my spare time. If you’re familiar with their work, then you know what type of Christian book Return of the Aliens is. If not, if you read Return of the Aliens, then you’ll know what those three guys write. 😛
So when will it be up? On Amazon’s Kindle, look for Monday or Tuesday. Smashwords, look for tomorrow to Monday. I was #3400 in the cue which is anywhere from 24 to 48 hours (based on past experience). As for sites like B&N, Kobo, Sony, Diesel, and Apple, I suspect it will be anywhere from 2-6 weeks.
For those of you who have not liked my Facebook Author Page http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Ruth-Ann-Nordins-Author-Page/159677540716502 or on my newsletter, you’ll miss out on the coupon for a free download at Smashwords. I’ll post it up there when the book is up on Smashwords. After much debate, I finally decided on the $3.99 price for this book because books in the Christian sci-fi thriller genre typically go for more, I don’t want people to assume if it’s ‘cheap’ that means it’s poor in quality, I spent 15 months working on it, and it’s 359 pages which is 102,900 words. I typically write novels between 65,000 to 75,000 words.
So that’s the big news. 😀 It feels good to get it done and out there. There were times when I wasn’t sure I could finish it since it was an intense book to write, but I did. For anyone wondering, there is a romantic subplot.
As for my next newsy news…
This is the keeper. Yes, it has a bride on it, but I love brides and flowers. Christina Busby found the picture at the bottom, and I knew it was ‘the one’. They’re in handcuffs, and the bride has her pinky wrapped around his which is perfect for the plot because she is the one who wants the marriage and poor Joel doesn’t. Tom is the one holding the gun, and when you read the book, you’ll learn why. 😉 Hey, I can’t give away all the twists. I plan to write this book in the fall of this year.
