Going to Make Three of the Books I Removed Contemporary and Republish

I decided to make An Inconvenient Marriage, An Unlikely Place for Love, and The Cold Wife contemporary.  Well, An Unlikely Place for Love will be in the 90s or 80s, depending on the time frame, but An Inconvenient Marriage will be today, and that happens last.  I will remove a couple of scenes I don’t think is necessary, change ‘stagecoach’ to limo, and take out the backstory I got that doesn’t add to the plot.

I was thinking of rewriting the books to fit the historical time period, but then I thought it would be less work to make them contemporary so that is what I’m going to do.  Since everything is so modern anyway, it’ll be the path of least resistance.  Then I will republish them.  I realize some people will not read the description, but I will update the description to say that this has become a contemporary romance.  I’ll also add an author’s note in the beginning.

So that is the happy medium I finally found.  I think I might change the covers for The Cold Wife and An Unlikely Place for Love since I can now use modern brides on them.  😀  Hey, I know I use lots of brides, but they sell better than other covers.  I have some pictures already lined out.

This week, I’ll work on An Inconvenient Marriage.  Then The Cold Wife, and after that An Unlikely Place for Love.  After that, I’ll change Trevor Lewis’ name in Romancing Adrienne, go through a look at it to determine if it’s best to be contemporary or not, and then I’ll decide on where to take it from there.

Now I’m excited and can move forward.  😀

  3. Christina Busby says:

    scratch that lol

  4. I think the brides work well. they tell the reader several things, like that it is a “married’ romance, for instance 🙂

    • I’m noticing the married thing is starting to become my trademark. lol I didn’t aim to be that way when I started, but I notice I keep going in that direction. All I know is that I love covers of brides. Even though I don’t read Nora Roberts, I love her bridal covers a lot and stop to look. 😀

Do what is YOU. Not what Others want you to do. It is never befitting for you to go against what You are called to do.

        • Why do you think I’m making steamier sex scenes in my books? 😉

I do think these three books will be a lot better as contemporaries, which is why I’m doing it. Plus, I get to put better pictures … brides!… on the covers. I love bride pictures.
