I just want everyone to know I’ll tackle emails tomorrow. After spending the day out with my kids, I’m exhausted. I’d like to kick my feet up and finish up the scene where Eliza tells Jeremy about his birth.
I wrote the hard part last night, so it’s now up to how he is going to react to it that I need to write out. I am at 57,700 words, which is really good considering my block two days ago. Like I said, I’ll wait until I’m done before I post it online. The last thing I need is to get stuck again. It’s nice to be getting back into the writing process. It’s hard to explain what it’s like when the words cease to come to me, but suffice it to say, it’s a scary experience.
I’m still getting questions about The Keeping of Greg Wilson and Mitch’s Win. All I can say is that I’m taking the ideas I had for those and putting them into different books with different characters. So it’s really new stories but the same basic premise, if that makes sense. The Keeping of Greg Wilson will be Shotgun Groom and I might keep the cover for Mitch’s Win, but I might change the name Mitch to something more appropriate for one of Dave and Mary’s sons. I don’t see them as a couple who would name their son Mitch.
What else? Oh yes, An Unlikely Place for Love is back to me now so I’ll make that my weekend project.
My goal is to have it uploaded by Monday, but don’t be surprised if it takes a day or two after that to go live. I never know what the speed will be when I publish a book. For those of you who like the original version, my suggestion is to keep it. That’s what I’m doing. The only version I like more is An Inconvenient Marriage, so I contacted Amazon to get the new Kindle version. But I’m not getting the new version for The Cold Wife or An Unlikely Place for Love. As for Romancing Adrienne, all that changed was the hero’s name so it’s not worth a new version, in my opinion.
But from here on out, I’m moving forward and not looking back.
And just so everyone knows, I’ll be on vacation from July 1 to July 31. I don’t plan to blog or email in that time. Whether or not I write, I don’t know. If the urge to write hits, I won’t stop it, but I’m not going to sit at the computer with the intention of writing something either. I’ll just see what happens. What I would like to do is tackle my ridiculously long TBR list. My average time on a book is two weeks. Given that I have more books than weeks in one year, you know how that works. 😉
I’d like to do a contest on behalf of myself and another author, but I am currently trying to think of something fun and original. Currently, my idea is to have someone write the book summary for a couple of books I plan to write this year and the summaries I pick (I’m thinking three books) will be the winners. And I’m only giving away ebooks. This other author doesn’t have paperbacks available, so it’ll be either a Kindle or Smashwords version of the books. Anyway, I’m still working on the ideas. Anyone with any thoughts, feel free to toss them my way. 😀
