Almost Done With the First Draft of Her Counterfeit Husband

I wanted to do an interview with Anna (heroine) and Appleton (the butler) in Her Counterfeit Husband this weekend, but I’ve been on a roll with writing it.  The hero is now learning the truth about his past, and I’m pretty much learning it along with him as the other characters reveal it.  I know it sounds crazy, but I didn’t know the details of the hero’s past and how he ended up beaten and left for dead in the forest until tonight as the hero is learning it.  That’s part of the thrill of writing a book.  Sometimes I don’t know what’s going to happen until I’m writing it.  😀

If all goes well, I’ll finish with the first draft by Saturday.  *fingers crossed*  Tomorrow, I’ll run off to spend the day with my writing group to check on how this story is working overall.   So I’m excited about going there tomorrow, especially since I’m almost done with the book.

I should be able to have the book out around August 1.  😀

That’s awesome congratulations, I hope you get it done I would like to read it sometime 🙂
    good luck finishing it

    • I spent all day yesterday going over it. It’s still not finished, but I had a lot of revising to do. LOL I’m glad I caught it before I finished the first draft because I changed a scene that will also factor into the end of the book. I’m just hoping I can still finish the first draft by Saturday. But if not, it’s not the end of the world. 😀

  2. YAY! *fingers crossed*

Dear Ruth, reading your posts always leaves me feeling good and inspired. By the grace of the Good Lord and His dear Mother, I managed to make my electronic magazine The Pink Chameleon’s deadline of June 30th (actually, July 5th – but I contacted the last two authors and they were kind enough to grant me a few days extension). So now I am starting to edit and polish my draft of my new novella which I completed back in April/May. And, Lord willing, I hope to have it out during August. Then I can start on new romance novella “Lilacs in the Spring”. I have done all my research and have the main plot ready. So the rest is just following the characters while I infuse them with my dreams and emotions. This is what your posts do for me: They keep me on my toes. By the way, we are all moved into our new home (my in-law apt) in Massachusetts (just a few boxes left to unpack), so I will soon be able to begin reading all your new books. I’ve purchased everything of yours that has recently been published.

All the best and lotsa hugs, your writing friend, Dorothy Paula 🙂

    • I figured you were busy. I remember you had to get settled in with the moving, but I forgot you also had the magazine to do. Even though I know things usually take longer than we expect, it’s hard not to think we can still do it in less time. 😀 Or at least it is for me. I’ve been trying to get motivated to write the interview with the heroine and butler from my current work in progress, but I keep getting distracted by summer activities. LOL

      How are you enjoying Massachusetts?

I’m looking forward to your new book when it comes out. 😀

What is your new address? Do you have my email so you can send it? I don’t have paperback versions of my last two books but hope to make those later this month. Right now all my time is going to finishing Her Counterfeit Husband.

It’s nice hearing from you! I’m glad everything is settling down after the big move. 😀
