His Convenient Wife is Still Due Out January 3

I forgot to mention His Convenient Wife in the last post.  Thanks to the person who brought it to my attention. 🙂

His Convenient Wife ebook cover

Yes, this is still due out January 3.

I have it all set and ready to go.  I had to push back the release date because this time of year just sucks for publishing books if you’re self-publishing anything.  No one is buying them.  They’re buying gifts for others.   I’ve decided it’s just better to hold onto a book and wait for the Christmas season to be over.  Then people are settled in and able to do more reading.

This time of year is a hard one for me, too, so I completely understand.  My kids get a lot of breaks from school, and it’s too cold to take them to the pool or park.  So they are usually buzzing around my house, climbing the walls (literally), and getting into lots of fights (since there are four of them).  I do good to get the meals on the table and keep the house clean.  And honestly, I am not the perfect housekeeper.  Even when I clean, I usually forget the small details like dusting.  As for cooking, I’ve been known to burn soup and set the microwave on fire.  I wish I was kidding, but I’m not.

Anyway, this is another excellent reason why pre-orders aren’t working for me.  Once I finish a book, I forget all about it.  I start focusing in on the ones I’m currently working on.  I know I’m supposed to keep promoting books, even after I’m done with them, but I have so many other books I want to do that it’s hard for me to go back and remember those that are out.  Fun for me is working on the current story.

I’ll try to remember to include His Convenient Wife in my update posts until it’s actually available.

Love the cover, Ruth. And don’t forget the release party….https://www.facebook.com/events/929168920444418/

  2. I’m looking forward to it.

    • Hopefully, it’ll be out when it’s supposed to. You’re not the only one who’s had trouble with pre-orders. I recently learned others have, too. I wish I’d known this before I decided to do them. At least I know now and won’t be doing them once His Convenient Wife, Love Lessons With the Duke, and Royal Hearts are done.

  3. January and February are always my best sales months. So it makes perfect sense to wait until January.

Judy, wouldn’t it be funny for all the rest of us to show up at the party, and Ruth is nowhere to be found? *giggles*

    • Hopefully, we’ll see a boost in January and February again. I’d love to pay off my house this year. Don’t know if it’ll happen, but I keep hoping.

I have the day marked on my calendar, so I shouldn’t forget.

Dear Ruth, you sound like me when I was your young age and raising my two boys. That’s the time during which I wrote Driscoll’s Lady, and I was and still am not the best housekeeper. I say “young age” because at my age you are “spring chicken” (said lovingly). But when we love to write, that’s what keeps us sane during the hectic times in our life. Don’t feel strange; you are the normal one for most of us at this time in your life. 🙂

On closing, I don’t remember if I mentioned it, but I read “Just Good Friends” and loved it! I’m looking forward to His Convenient Wife so I can read the book before its Release Blog Party on January 5th. Have I got the right book and the right day? Dom and I do a lot of baby sitting for our grandkids and I’m daily remembering how it was when I brought up my two boys. 🙂

Lots of hugs to my most favorite author. ❤

    • Yep, writing keeps me sane. 🙂

For the most part, I’ve learned to tune out the kids. The same is true for other kids. I don’t notice the noise anymore unless someone is screaming right in front of me. Some people seem surprised by this, but it’s noisy every day my kids aren’t in school so it’s life as normal for me.

I still think it’s great that you watch your grandkids. 🙂

January 5th is right. It’s 7-9 Eastern time. I’m looking forward to reading your newest book (which I already bought in paperback).
