First of all, I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! Because of you, 2017 was a wonderful year. (I know I say this a lot, but honestly, I wouldn’t be writing books today if it weren’t for the support and encouragement you guys have given me over the years. There were times I almost gave up. Because of you, I didn’t. Words can’t describe how grateful I am to all of you.) I’m looking forward to 2018 because I know you’ll continue with me.
Now on to today’s post. I am finally getting around to announcing this book’s release. I’m slightly behind schedule, but The Rejected Groom is still coming out in February, so all is good. 🙂
So here’s the info on Married In Haste…
Married In Haste is Book 2 in the Marriage by Fate Series. Book 1 is The Reclusive Earl. I am currently working on Make Believe Bride, which is Book 3.
Now to the book…
This book features Brad Bachman, Lord Youngtown, who first showed up in The Rake’s Vow. He was Loretta’s older brother who freaked out any time she spent money. Well, he’s still freaking out when someone is spending his money, and in this case, the person who’s doing the spending is his younger brother, Stephen.
I don’t know if you remember, but Stephen has shown up in The Rake’s Vow and Taming The Viscountess. In both books, he was a cad, and he’s still a cad in this book. When we get to Married In Haste, Brad is having an argument over Stephen’s reckless spending, and since Stephen isn’t happy about it, he ends up placing Brad in the middle of a scandal with Miss Ava Baynes. (Ava originally showed up in The Reclusive Earl. She is Opal’s best friend.)
The reason Stephen picks Ava is because Ava bumped into someone at the ball, and as she was falling to the floor, she took Brad down with her. Now, most gentlemen would laugh this off, but if you read The Rake’s Vow, you know that Brad takes everything seriously. In this case, he was horrified to be the everyone’s laughter. That is why Stephen picked Ava. (Yes, Stephen is extremely immature. I assure you that he’s going to get what’s coming to him. I begin the ball rolling on that at the end of this book.)
Anyway, Brad and Ava have to marry. During the course of writing the story, I was surprised by how insecure Brad was. Some of that insecurity showed up in the bedchamber. Given the relationship he has with Stephen, I understand why, but he did let a lot of what Stephen’s been telling him to impact how he initially handles his marriage to Ava. I don’t want to spoil the book. So I’ll leave it there.
If you’d like to check out the book, you can find it at these retailers:
Mazel tov!
BTW, talked to that friend I told you about. She said she’s not really taking requests right now, as her reading list is kind of long. However, she would like to know what the YA trilogy is about.
Thank you!
And no worries. In a nutshell, it’s about a group of teenagers who have to stop an evil man from taking over another dimension. I’m going to get Best Page Forward to help with the description because I’m having trouble with the descriptions for the three books. I have read books, watched videos, and read blog posts about becoming good at writing book descriptions, but I still struggle in this area.
Let me know when you have a final one.
Will do.
